Description:

Our dog Dahlia is a border collie mox in desperate need of a happy home due to our family leaving a domestic violence situation.

She is an amazing dog! She loves to dig, jump and chase balls/sticks and go for walks. She's a great gardener if you need holes dug. She is almost 2 years old now and is a quick learner. She knows basic commands such as sit, down, sit pretty, circle, and stay/heel, but she isn't perfect at these yet.

The main things a potential new family should consider is that she is afraid of other dogs and can act defensively aggressive. We have had her play with other dogs with some work and attention, but it would need to be someone who really understands and has experience with these situations. She has not lived with cats and barks at them. She loves going for walks and we try to take her every day. She will ask to play tug a war and loves this game a lot.  She is a good listener and is crate trained. She will go in her crate when asked and sleeps in there with her blanket at night. Her crate is her safe space and she likes to go in there if there is someone visiting she isn't comfortable with or if she's scared for some other reason.

Dahlia loves children and does best with older kids. Dahlia needs someone who can be devoted to helping train her to better handle her fears and issues, has the time to give her sufficient exercise and play and is looking for a loving and sweet companion.
She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, comes with crate and blanket, mostly full bag of food, treats, and other dog supplies.
